PBIS Framework & Clymb

What is PBIS?
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a multi-tiered, evidence-based framework for adopting and organizing behavioral supports for all students. PBIS focuses on increasing positive behavioral outcomes for all students and thereby improving school climate, social competencies and academic achievement.
The PBIS framework includes multi-tiered support for students:
- Tier 1: Universal
- Tier 2: Targeted
- Tier 3: Intensive & Individualised
SEL and PBIS
How does SEL fit within the PBIS framework?
SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) aligns with PBIS in creating safe and supportive environments allowing students to improve behaviors & academic performance and learn important skills. While PBIS emphasizes increasing positive behavior, SEL empowers students by building competencies to navigate the world effectively. They both often achieve similar outcomes and hence schoolwide SEL can be integrated into PBIS frameworks as a Tier 1 intervention.
Clymb and PBIS

- Clymb’s features allow educators to collect data that can support decision making on students’ social competence and academic achievement.
- Clymb supports the whole child by prioritizing the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students, alongside their academic progress.
